Bravecto Blue: The Safe and Effective Way to Protect Your Dogs from Fleas and Ticks

What Is Bravecto?

In 2014, Bravecto came out for the first time as an edible medicine and preventative for parasites. Even though studies found that Bravecto helped with canine demodectic mange, the drug’s main goal is to kill fleas and ticks. Merck Animal Health made bravecto blue for dogs available as a topical application for picky pups in 2016. The patented “Twist’n’Use” applicator makes it easy to give medicine to a fussy puppy. Topical Bravecto works well for the whole 12 weeks, even if you bathe or swim a lot in between doses.

A drug called Bravecto can be given to cats and dogs to help them get rid of parasites. The main ingredient in Bravecto is fluralaner. It is used to treat flea and tick diseases in dogs and cats, as well as flea allergy dermatitis in cats and dogs, which is an allergic reaction to flea bites, and demodectic and sarcoptic mange in dogs, which is caused by two different parasites on the skin.

How Can Bravecto Be Used?

For dogs, Bravecto comes in a syringe with a spot-on treatment, and for dogs, it comes in pills that can be chewed. Spot-on treatments and pills come in different strengths for dogs of different sizes. One Bravecto dropper is filled to the top and put on the dog’s skin between its shoulder blades.

From the first spot in a line to the end of the tail, dogs can get many spots. The correct pipette is picked based on how much the dog weighs. It keeps killing fleas and ticks for 12 weeks after it is applied. Pills of the right strength for the dog’s weight are given to the dog when it eats or close to when it eats.

Its affects on fleas and ticks last for 12 weeks and 8 to 12 weeks, respectively, after it is used. For the best flea control, the treatment must be used again every twelve weeks. For the best tick control, treatments should be done every 8 to 12 weeks, depending on the type of tick.

Dogs only need one kind of care for Demodex and Sarcoptic mange. Different things can cause demodectic mange, so it’s best to treat any underlying health problems. Follow your vet’s advice about how often and how often you need to treat sarcoptic mange again. Ear mites should be checked by a vet 28 days after they have been treated. If more care is needed, it will be up to the doctor to decide what to do.

Does Bravecto Kill Eggs That Fleas Lay?

Bravecto doesn’t kill flea eggs. Instead, it kills the fleas after they’ve grown up. This gets rid of the population and stops fleas from making more eggs. The Bravecto pill kills fleas in two hours, and the Bravecto Topical for dogs cuts fleas by at least 95% in one to two days.

How To Get Rid Of Fleas On Cats And Dogs

When a dog or cat scratches too hard at an itch, it can give a pet owner the chills. The last thing you want is for fleas or ticks to take over your house, and you also don’t want your family to get sick from disease-carrying parasites. We’ve put together a list of the best flea and tick treatments that vets suggest to protect both pets and people from these scary bugs.

Every product we suggest will kill fleas, but fleas might not be the only parasites you have to deal with. Depending on where you are in the country, you may need to protect yourself from ticks and other parasites like heartworms or roundworms that live inside your body. Some treatments can be done differently or less often than others. So, talk to your own vet. They can give you the best advice based on your pet’s health history and how common pests are in your area.

Kills Fleas And Keeps Them From Coming Back

Bravecto chews not only kill fleas and ticks that are already there, but they also keep them from coming back. Bravecto flea chews for dogs are a prescription flea prevention medicine, so you’ll need a prescription from your vet to order them. Veterinarians often suggest Bravecto because it protects against fleas, which is its main purpose. Once you give your dog the medicine, it only takes two hours for it to start killing fleas and stop their itchy bites.

Parents like that the Bravecto flea chew keeps their dogs and homes free of fleas and ticks, but they love how easy it is to use. The chews taste good, and dogs really like them. They are great for dogs that won’t stay still long enough for you to squirt all the medicine between the shoulder blades.

Dogs often shake right after the liquid is put on them, getting it all over the place and sometimes even on you. Then they’ll lie down and roll around on furniture, rugs, or their bed, rubbing the treatment off. Also, if you have young children, it can be hard to keep them from touching your dog while you wait for a topical to dry. With Bravecto bites, you don’t have to keep your dog away from your kids or other pets in the house.

One Last Thought

We rate Bravecto 4.5 out of 5 points. If your pet already has fleas or ticks, Bravecto is a great choice because it kills over 100% of fleas and over 90% of ticks within 72 hours of treatment.

Bravecto is the only flea and tick medicine that can be used for up to three months. Bravecto is flexible because it can be taken as a tasty pork-flavored chew or as a “spot-on” treatment that is easy to use. Other medicines, on the other hand, only come in one form, like pills, creams, chewables, or collars.
